IO Interactive announced at the IOI Showcase event organized as part of Summer Game Fest 2025 that Hitman: World of Assassination has sold 25 million copies worldwide and reached 80 million players. The Hitman trilogy will be available for iPhone, iPad and Mac users this summer. The game’s arrival in the Apple ecosystem coincides with the series’ 25th anniversary.
Hitman: World of Assassination will come to Apple devices
The statements made about the series included not only platform expansion, but also steps towards the physical game world. IO Interactive announced that they are working on a board game version of Hitman. The company is collaborating with Mood Publishing for this project.
The game, which will be funded via Kickstarter this year, will support up to four players. Players will play as assassins pursuing the same target. The first person to defeat the target will win the prize.
Another content added to the Hitman universe is the new Elusive Target mission. Mads Mikkelsen, who played Le Chiffre in the movie Casino Royale, is voicing the same character in the Hitman: World of Assassination universe.
Le Chiffre will appear as the game’s new Elusive Target. The mission will only be accessible for a limited time and will not be given the right to replay if you fail. The production has reached a wide player base over the years with its constantly updated structure in terms of content.
With the game being ported to Apple platforms, mobile and desktop users will be able to have the same experience. The development team has not yet announced the technical details regarding performance on mobile devices.
