Rolls-Royce continues its exclusive automobile series. Just recently, the company unveiled the La Rose Noire version of the Droptail series, which will have a production of four units. Now, the company is presenting the second version of this vehicle. While the previous model incorporated a ‘rose’ theme, the British luxury car manufacturer’s latest model draws inspiration from the amethyst gemstone.
Rolls-Royce Droptail adorned in purple this time
Rolls-Royce, known for crafting personalized automobiles, has unveiled the Amethyst version of the Droptail model, which they will produce four units of. It’s noted that the owner of the vehicle preferred this particular design due to their son’s birthstone being an amethyst. The Amethyst Droptail lives up to its name by featuring rare amethyst stones in its rotating dials and the base of the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine.
The vehicle stands out with its purple color, befitting the amethyst stone. It features a brushed grille at the front. It’s mentioned that over 50 hours were spent just to achieve this appearance for the front grille.
Another noteworthy detail is the wooden veneer used in the rear section of the vehicle. It’s stated that this veneer is the largest wooden surface found in a Rolls-Royce model. The British manufacturer revealed that they subjected the wooden veneers to more than 150 tests to ensure their durability.
The manufacturer tested the wooden piece at temperatures ranging from -30 to 80 degrees Celsius, investing more than 8,000 hours to produce this material. The resulting veneer, after approximately 333 days of work, has also been patented by Rolls-Royce.
Beneath the hood of the vehicle lies a 6.7-liter V-12 engine, producing 593 horsepower and delivering 840 Nm of torque. Rolls-Royce plans to introduce two more distinct Droptail models in the upcoming period. What are your thoughts on these exclusive automobiles?
