As Realme continues the countdown to the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro models, which will be unveiled in China in October, it’s gradually revealing the device’s notable features. A leaked poster yesterday gave the phone’s rear design a first glimpse, and today, Realme CEO Derek detailed the GT 8 Pro’s display. Here are the details.
The Realme GT 8 Pro’s display will be significantly improved
According to Derek’s statements, the Realme GT 8 Pro’s display features significant improvements in several areas:
- Resolution: The screen resolution has been increased from 1.5K to 2K.
- Refresh Rate: The refresh rate has been increased from 120Hz to 144Hz.
- Brightness: Maximum brightness has been increased from 6,000 nits to 7,000 nits.
- Design: The curved screen has been replaced by a flat display with wide R-shaped corners.

Significant steps have also been taken to improve visual comfort. The display now features features like global full brightness DC dimming, 1-nit eye protection, and circular polarization protection by default. Color accuracy has been upgraded from software to hardware chip calibration, promising more vibrant and accurate colors.
Derek acknowledged that the 2K display consumes more power, but noted that advancements in battery density have led to the installation of a 7,000mAh battery in the GT 8 Pro. Derek emphasized that the display’s features, beyond its resolution, such as refresh rate, brightness, and eye protection, will make the device one of the best in its price segment.
New details about the phone’s camera features have also been shared. Aric Song, the brand’s Marketing and Communications Director, announced that the GT 8 Pro will feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which will support 3x optical zoom and 12x lossless zoom. These features make the GT 8 Pro a compelling flagship alternative in both its display and camera aspects.
