After the latest Android Auto updates, many users are facing wireless connection problems. Some phones restart spontaneously when connecting to the car, while others cannot connect at all. Here are the details…
Android Auto updates caused problems?
After Android Auto’s v13.4 and v13.5 updates released in January and February, many users are reporting that the wireless connection is not working as it used to. According to posts on Reddit and Google’s Android Auto forums, the wireless connection either doesn’t work at all or connects for a short time and then suddenly disconnects. Some users are even reporting that their phones are rebooting unannounced during the car connection.

The problem is not limited to the wireless connection. Some users report that their phones reboot on their own during both wired and wireless use. Especially during phone calls, listening to music or books via applications such as YouTube Music or Libby.
Google announced that it is aware of the problem and is working on a solution. However, no information has yet been given about when a fix will be released. Users do not know for sure whether reverting to the previous version works, and so far a permanent solution has not been found.
In summary, the most reliable method for Android Auto users at the moment seems to be wired connection. However, this is not a useful option for everyone.
