Redmi 12 series announced with 90Hz displays, 50MP cameras at $120
Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand that produces affordable smartphones, has finally unveiled its latest 12 series. The models, which come in two different variants, Redmi 12 4G and 5G, feature a similar design and relatively the same technical specifications. However, there are notable differences on the price side.
Redmi 12 5G and 4G specs and prices
Both phones come with a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphones are powered by MediaTek Helio G88 (4G) and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (5G) chipsets that boost performance with 6GB/8GB RAM. Storage options go up to 128GB in the 4G model and 256GB in the 5G version.
It should be noted that there are differences on the camera side of the devices. Redmi 12 4G; It consists of a 50 Megapixel main sensor, 8 Megapixel ultra-wide lens and 2 Megapixel macro camera. Powered by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, the models feature a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also a physical fingerprint sensor on the side and IP53 water/dust resistance certification.
The Redmi 12 series comes out of the box with MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi said it will provide at least 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates for the new models.

Redmi 12 series prices are quite attractive. The starting price for Redmi 12 4G is 8999 RS (120 dollars), while the 5G version is set at 10,999 RS (140 dollars).
