Launched on November 27, the Redmi K80 series has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from users. The smartphones sold an impressive 660,000 units on the first day of release, setting a new first-day sales record for the K series. The series has now achieved another milestone in record time.
Over 1 Million Units Sold in 10 Days
In just 10 days since its release, the Redmi K80 series surpassed the 1 million sales mark, making it the fastest-selling model in the history of the K series. Redmi’s General Manager, Wang Teng Thomas, highlighted that this success cements the series’ reputation, predicting it will remain a standout in 2025.
The Redmi K80 features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 2K resolution (3200 x 1440), a 120Hz refresh rate, a 480Hz touch sampling rate (2560Hz for gaming), HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, Xiaomi Qingshan Eye Protection 2.0, 3,200 nits peak brightness, and 1,800 nits global brightness. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, built on TSMC’s 4nm process, with an eight-core CPU clocking up to 3.3GHz and an Adreno 750 GPU.
The device comes with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB UFS 4.0. It runs on HyperOS 2, offering improved performance, faster app launch times, and reduced latency.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP (f/1.6) main camera with Light Fusion 800 and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120° field of view, and a 2MP macro lens. Features include Super Night Mode, Dynamic Photos, and 8K video recording. The front camera has a 20MP sensor.
The phone is equipped with a 6,550mAh battery, the largest in Xiaomi’s lineup, and supports 90W fast charging. It uses a Surge P3 charging chip and a Surge G1 battery management chip.
Additional features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that works with wet hands, IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, NFC, an infrared remote, and stereo speakers. Color options are Obsidian Black, Snow White, Mountain Green, and Moonlight Blue.
Pricing starts at 2,499 yuan ($346) for the 12GB + 256GB model and goes up to 3,599 yuan ($496) for the 16GB + 1TB variant. Currently available in China, global availability is expected soon.
