Xiaomi has officially revealed the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, its next mid-range tablet, which will launch globally on September 24.
Redmi Pad 2 Pro to launch alongside flagship devices

Set to share the stage with the Xiaomi 15T series and Watch S4 41 mm, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro aims to improve on last year’s Redmi Pad Pro with a few strategic upgrades. Xiaomi confirmed the news in a teaser video, following weeks of leaks.
Display stays the same, but battery gets a boost
The new tablet keeps the same 12.1-inch 2.5K IPS panel with 120 Hz refresh and 600 nits peak brightness. That’s likely the exact display from its predecessor. The big change this year is the battery.
Xiaomi has increased the battery size by 25%, taking it up to 12,000 mAh. Charging speed, however, takes a step back, down from 33 W to 27 W.
Redmi Pad 2 Pro still supports a stylus and a keyboard
Xiaomi keeps key accessories in the mix. The Redmi Smart Pen returns, along with the same detachable keyboard, which, like before, still lacks a built-in trackpad.
Other familiar traits:
- Single rear-facing camera
- Flat aluminum design
- USB-C charging port
- Optional 5G model
Snapdragon chip powers Redmi Pad 2 Pro refresh
Under the hood, the new tablet features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. It’s a modest upgrade aimed at improving power efficiency and connectivity, especially in the 5G variant.
Pricing and availability to follow the September 24 event
While the full spec sheet and pricing will be revealed next week, early signs point to a focused refresh. Xiaomi seems intent on refining battery life and adding optional mobile data, rather than reinventing the wheel.
It keeps what worked and pads it with just enough to stay relevant in the mid-range Android tablet market.
