Xiaomi’s highly anticipated REDMI Turbo 5 series is one step closer to launch. A new Xiaomi phone, listed with the model number 2602BRT18C, has successfully passed radio certification in China. This step generally indicates that the device will be released soon.
Launch Expected Before Chinese New Year
According to Weibo leak source Smart Pikachu, this certified device belongs to the REDMI Turbo 5 series and is most likely the top model in the series, the REDMI Turbo 5 Pro. While Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed the model yet, the certification activity shows that launch preparations are in full swing.

The REDMI Turbo 5 series is expected to include two models: the standard Turbo 5 and the Turbo 5 Pro. The base model, the Turbo 5, already received its certification in October. The expected launch window for the series coincides with the Chinese Spring Festival, around January or February. Reliable leak source DigitalChatStation also stated that the Turbo 5 Pro will arrive before the holiday.
According to DigitalChatStation, this new generation of the Turbo series is positioned more aggressively than previous models. The Turbo 5 Pro is rumored to come with a flagship-class chipset (some leaks mention the Dimensity 9500e or a similar Dimensity chip) and a dedicated performance tune.
It’s expected to have the largest battery in its segment (some leaks point to 8,000 mAh or more), supported by 100W fast charging. It’s also expected to use a metal frame. Other features listed include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor (under-display), full water resistance (likely IP68/69), and symmetrical stereo speakers.
For comparison, the previous REDMI Turbo 4 Pro was the first smartphone to launch with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. It featured a 6.83-inch 1.5K flat display, a 50MP + 8MP rear camera setup, and 90W wired charging support.
