Redmi is preparing to unveil its upcoming smartphone, the Redmi Turbo 5, as excitement builds among fans. Trusted tech insider Digital Chat Station recently revealed crucial details about the device on Weibo, shedding light on what to expect from the new entry in Redmi’s lineup.
Redmi Turbo 5 features revealed
According to the leak, the Redmi Turbo 5 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, promising solid midrange performance. The phone will feature a 1.5K resolution LTPS OLED display, characterized by large, rounded corners that contribute to a sleek look. Design-wise, the device is said to boast a premium metal frame around the edges and a minimalist rear camera setup for a clean aesthetic.

Although the latest leak didn’t specify the screen size, earlier rumors indicated a 6.6-inch panel. One of the standout features will be its hefty battery capacity, estimated around 7,000 mAh. This suggests that despite its competitive pricing, the Turbo 5 aims to deliver impressive endurance for heavy users.
Interestingly, there’s speculation that Redmi may launch the device globally under the POCO X8 Pro name. Given the common practice of rebranding among Chinese manufacturers, it’s likely that these two models will share core specifications despite differing names and design tweaks.
Redmi’s roadmap also includes other anticipated releases, with the Redmi Note 15 series expected to debut in China this August, followed by the possible launch of the Redmi K90 series in November. The Turbo 5 is rumored to arrive in late 2025 or early 2026, initially targeting the Chinese market.
