As you know, Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His return was officially announced at the Marvel Studios Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. However, this time he will not appear as Tony Stark/Iron Man, but as Victor von Doom, Doctor Doom. So how much will Robert Downey Jr. get paid for his return to the Marvel Universe?
It has been revealed how much Robert Downey Jr. will receive from the Marvel universe: 80 million dollars!
Robert Downey Jr.’s return to Marvel will be crowned with a huge financial gain. Downey is set to star in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars for more than $80 million. He will also receive additional incentives if these films reach certain box office targets.
Downey’s deal also includes extras like private jet access, a private security team and a private trailer camp. His new role and its perks are likely to overshadow Downey’s accomplishments in his previous MCU career.
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Anthony and Joe Russo are also set to capitalize on these projects. The two brothers will receive $40 million for each movie and will earn additional incentives when the films reach $750 million and $1 billion in box office receipts. However, under this deal, the Russo brothers will not receive any back-end percentage.
The release date of the two new Avengers movies is officially announced!
Filming for the new Avengers movies will begin in London in the second quarter of 2025. Avengers: Doomsday will hit theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on May 7, 2027.
