After the pandemic, we know that technology companies have adopted a hybrid working style. From Apple to Microsoft, many companies are working from home on certain days of the week. However, Roblox Corporation, the developer of the game Roblox, forcibly calls its employees to the office.
The slaughter of those who do not come to the office at Roblox has begun
Roblox wants its employees to return to the office full-time. It says that people who do not accept this policy should leave their jobs by accepting severance pay. Roblox Corporation CEO David Baszucki called all employees to the office.
In a written statement sent to employees this week, the new rules that will take effect from next summer were announced. Accordingly, employees will have to come to the company and work here at least three days a week.
Those who can’t or won’t comply with this rule will be given compensation packages for leaving their jobs. Only some remote roles and those with key expertise will be exempt.
In his statement on the subject, CEO Baszucki stated that the reason for the policy change is that face-to-face work leads to much more productivity. Spontaneous ideas or feedback do not come out of online meetings.
While some flexibility will remain, Baszucki wants a return to learning, especially for younger employees. The gaming company said it would also help with the costs of those moving to the office district.
As remote and hybrid working grows in popularity post-pandemic, it remains to be seen how Roblox’s move will play out.
