Beatbot, a Hong Kong-based technology company normally known for its pool cleaning robots, introduced its next generation amphibious robot called RoboTurtle at CES 2025. The robot, which resembles a turtle with its design and movements, will serve for ecological research, natural disaster response and marine exploration. Details in our news…
RoboTurtle, introduced at CES 2025, will both explore the seas and serve as a lifeguard
RoboTurtle comes with an adaptive perception system that can analyze its environment in real time and an advanced buoyancy system that allows it to move comfortably both on land and in water. The robot’s bionic multi-jointed limbs enable it to perform complex tasks with precision. While doing so, it does not harm the ecosystem. It also offers long-term autonomous use thanks to its highly efficient solar panels. York Guo, Beatbot’s Marketing Manager, describes RoboTurtle as follows:
“ROBOTURTLE IS DESIGNED AS AN ALLY IN ECOLOGICAL RESEARCH, AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE. IT SERVES TO PROTECT COMMUNITIES AND MAKE OUR PLANET’S ECOSYSTEMS SUSTAINABLE.”
Uses and functions
RoboTurtle has a wide range of uses. Among its prominent functions are:
- Water quality monitoring: Tracking chemical and biological changes in marine and freshwater ecosystems.
- Species monitoring: Collecting biometric data by tracking endangered species.
- Hazardous material sampling: Detecting and analyzing hazardous waste with the support of artificial intelligence.
The robot is designed to detect environmental disasters such as oil spills or monitor the status of species disappearing in hazardous areas. Beatbot says RoboTurtle will be an important tool for government agencies, non-governmental organizations and scientific research centers.
Apart from RoboTurtle, Beatbot also introduced an automated charging station called Shore at CES 2025. This system offers magnetic wireless charging for robotic pool cleaners. It is also very easy to use. York Guo explains Beatbot’s vision in the following words:
“WE USE TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF AQUATIC ENVIRONMENTS AND CREATE A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. ROBOTURTLE IS AN IMPORTANT STEP TOWARDS ACHIEVING THIS GOAL.”
