Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 in March, the last member of its popular mid-segment phone series Galaxy A. While the tech world is already eagerly awaiting the next model, the Galaxy A56, Samsung is hard at work on the new phone. The Galaxy A56 is expected to be officially unveiled in the first quarter of next year.
Samsung Galaxy A56 offers a significant camera improvement
In the meantime, new leaks that have not escaped prying eyes give important clues about the Galaxy A56’s camera features. According to the leaks, which offer both pleasing and slightly disappointing developments, the Galaxy A56’s selfie camera will undergo a significant upgrade. The selfie camera, which will likely be equipped with a new sensor with a resolution of 12 MP, will replace the 32 MP camera used in the A5x series since the Galaxy A51 launched in 2019.
While it is not yet clear whether the new selfie camera will be the same as the one used in Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S series, it is certain to offer a significantly better experience than what has been offered so far in the A5x series.
However, aside from the exciting selfie camera upgrade, no changes to other camera features are expected. According to leaks, the Galaxy A56 will feature the same camera hardware on the back as its predecessor, the Galaxy A55.
This means that the 50 MP main camera, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and 5 MP macro camera will also appear in the new model. Users who longed for a telephoto lens on the Galaxy A5x, Samsung’s best-selling phone series, will have to wait at least another year. Perhaps the Galaxy A57 will be the first model to include the telephoto lens in the series.
All in all, we can say that the Galaxy A56 paints a somewhat mixed picture when it comes to camera upgrades. The phone, which is expected to take an important step forward in terms of selfie camera, may not be much different from its predecessor with other camera features. Still, it’s worth waiting for Samsung to make the official announcement. Maybe the South Korean technology giant will manage to surprise us.
