Samsung unveiled its first color e-paper TV prototype at this year’s InfoComm exhibition. Equipped with color e-ink display technology, this TV is designed to display advertising or public service announcements (PSAs) in offices, shopping malls, retail stores and even outdoor public spaces.
What is Samsung color E-Paper technology?
Measuring 32 inches in size and with QHD resolution, this display can display up to 60,000 colors. It is also only 17.9 mm thick and weighs 2.9 kg without battery. The screen consumes no power when displaying a static image, but only when content is changed.
With 8GB of internal storage, this TV can show preloaded content but can also be connected via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 2x USB-C connections (one for power and one for transfer). The TV’s bezel is easily interchangeable and compatible with 200 x 200 VESA wall mounts.
Samsung plans to launch this TV with an easily manageable app. This app will allow for easy and quick updating of on-screen content. This will enable advertisers and businesses to deliver dynamic and engaging content.
Samsung’s color e-paper TV is particularly notable for its energy efficiency and easy assembly. Its battery-free operation and low power consumption make it an ideal solution for long-term advertising campaigns.
Samsung plans to launch this prototype very soon. The color e-paper TV is expected to bring a major innovation in the field of outdoor advertising and public service announcements. This new product from the tech giant could gain a significant foothold in the advertising industry.
