Samsung is coming up with a new non-flagship phone model. This new leak provides detailed information about the new member of the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A06. The device stands out as a budget-friendly phone and is expected to be released as the successor to the Galaxy A05.
Samsung Galaxy A06 design and hardware specifications
The Galaxy A06 measures 167.3 x 77.9 x 8.0 mm and comes with a 6.7-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The device has a flat bezel and back panel and is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The 3.5mm headphone jack is a feature that is more common on budget and mid-range devices.
On the back, there are dual rear cameras without any camera islands or protrusions. On the front, there is a selfie sensor with a drop notch design more commonly seen on budget phones. Although only the black color option appears in the renders, it is estimated that there will be a few additional color options.
Technical Specifications
Galaxy A06 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor and 6 GB RAM. This hardware offers enough performance for daily use and basic applications. Interestingly, this processor is also said to be sufficient for mobile gaming. This makes sense, especially in markets like India where a phone is used as the main media consumption and entertainment device.
The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery capacity with 15W fast charging support and is charged via the USB-C port. As for software, it will launch with Android 14, but will likely only receive one major update and a few security updates.
The Galaxy A06 is in a very different position from Samsung’s high-end flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it’s sure to be a good alternative for users looking for an affordable option. The device, which is expected to be launched in India and other international markets, has already received FCC, Bluetooth SIG, BIS and NBTC certifications.
