Samsung is planning to introduce a new feature called Battery AI for next year’s flagship Galaxy S25 series to enhance battery life. This feature will conserve system resources by closing unnecessary background tasks to extend the phone’s battery life. Here are the details…
Galaxy S25 series to offer extra battery life with Battery AI feature
Recently, a leak revealed that the 2025 Galaxy S25 Ultra model would have a 5,000mAh battery and support 45W fast charging. This was somewhat disappointing because Samsung originally planned to use stacked batteries, supporting longer battery life and 65W fast charging. However, this plan is now rumored to be postponed until 2026 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
To alleviate the disappointment of the unchanged battery capacity in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung is reportedly introducing a new feature called Battery AI. This feature will allow the phone to offer an extra 5 to 10 percent longer usage time.
A user named PandaFlash stated that an anonymous source informed him about a feature called Battery AI. This feature will conserve system resources by closing unnecessary background tasks to extend the phone’s battery life. Most battery-saving software extends battery life by lowering CPU/GPU performance or reducing the capacity of the 5G modem.
Battery AI, unlike this approach, seems to enhance battery life by simply closing unnecessary tasks. Since PandaFlash referred to the 2025 flagship series, it’s likely that this feature will debut with the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra early next year. Given that Samsung introduced Galaxy AI with this year’s flagship series, it makes sense to add Battery AI to the Galaxy S25 series.
If Samsung introduces this feature next year, it could distract from criticisms regarding the Ultra model’s unchanged 5,000mAh battery capacity. This capacity, unchanged since the Galaxy S21, might annoy some users, but the Battery AI feature seems poised to address these concerns by enhancing battery performance.
