Samsung will reformulate the Galaxy S series in 2025 by expanding from three to four models, thanks to the arrival of the Galaxy S25 Slim. As the name suggests, the device will have a strong focus on design, being the thinnest device produced by Samsung in a long time.
The last time the South Korean company released a similar phone was in 2014 with the Galaxy Alpha. This device was 6.7 mm thick. The highly anticipated new model shows us that after more than 10 years, the company is focusing on an ultra-thin design model again.
Galaxy S25 Slim will offer a telephoto lens similar to Apple’s
According to emerging information, just like with the iPhone 17 Slim, there are some compromises Samsung will have to make to offer such a thin body. The elements that will be most affected are the camera set and the battery unit.
According to rumors, Samsung’s slim-design phone will feature a set of ALoP lenses that work in a similar way to TetraPrisma, which debuted on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
This technology was introduced by Samsung in October, emphasizing that compared to the traditional format, the size of the camera module can be reduced by up to 22 percent. To achieve this, the mechanism uses a reflective prism tilted at 40 degrees, while the sensor itself is tilted at 10 degrees. In this way, the lens helps to increase the focal length and therefore the zoom range.
It is not yet known how the zoom support will be in the camera set of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim model. But most likely we will have a zoom support around 3x. Thus, we will be able to use the same range as the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus in a much thinner format.
