Samsung aims to make a significant impact in the smartwatch market with its Galaxy Watch 6 series. Recently, Samsung obtained certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States, confirming the existence of these watches. The new models will be called Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is on the way
The Galaxy Watch 6 series will consist of two models that cater to different preferences and styles. According to the FCC listing, the watches will be available in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm. The smaller screen model will have the model number SM-R930, while the larger version will be SM-R940.
The FCC certification revealed that the Galaxy Watch 6 will feature classic connectivity options, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a, NFC, and GNSS. Additionally, similar to the previous series, the Watch 6 will support wireless charging and will use the same wireless charging device as the previous model.
Alongside the Galaxy Watch 6, the Watch 6 Pro will also be introduced. Previously leaked images of the device showcased a physically rotating bezel reminiscent of the Watch 4 Classic. It is expected that the Watch 6 Pro will come with a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 470 × 470 pixels.
Samsung faced criticism for not including a physically rotating bezel in the Watch 5 series, as it was seen as a convenience for users, which was present in the Galaxy Watch Active.
The Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July-August.
