While the tech world eagerly awaits Samsung’s massive Unpacked event in the summer of 2026, exciting news has surfaced from India. The battery units for Samsung’s next-generation foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the mysterious Galaxy Z Wide Fold, expected to join the series for the first time—have successfully completed the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification process.
This leak not only confirms the existence of these devices but also provides vital clues about their technical capacities. Another surprise in the certification lists is a new category in Samsung’s audio lineup: the Galaxy Buds Able wireless earbuds. Here are the leaked details of this new ecosystem expected to debut in July 2026.
Galaxy Z Wide Fold: Samsung’s Answer to Apple?
The most striking point of the leaks is undoubtedly the Galaxy Z Wide Fold model. Unlike the tall and narrow cover screen design of the standard Fold series, this model is reported to feature a wider aspect ratio. Expected to arrive with a design closer to a “passport” form factor, this device is viewed as a strategic move against the foldable iPhone model Apple is rumored to be developing.

According to BIS data, both the standard Z Fold 8 and the Wide model will be equipped with massive 5,000 mAh batteries. Samsung increasing the capacity—which it held at the 4,400 mAh level for generations—is seen as a critical improvement for the power-hungry Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Additionally, it is confirmed that both models will support 45W wired fast charging.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Buds Able: Elegance Meets Innovation
The representative of the clamshell foldable form, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, will move forward with a 4,300 mAh battery according to certification documents. Claims suggest the cover screen will grow even further, pushing the 4.0-inch boundary. At its heart, the device is expected to feature the Snapdragon chipset in some regions and Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 in others.
On the audio front, the new earbud model appearing under the name Galaxy Buds Able (SM-U600) is stirring curiosity. Taking a different naming convention from the current Pro and standard series, there is talk that this model might feature bone conduction technology or advanced health-tracking sensors. This model, also spotted in Samsung’s wearable app codes, could take the Buds series into a completely different segment.
Release Date and Expectations: July 2026
With certification processes beginning to wrap up as of April, it appears Samsung will stick to its traditional July launch schedule. Expected to ship with the Android 17-based One UI 9.0, the new foldable family aims to outshine competitors with a new hinge technology that nearly eliminates the screen crease.
