Samsung’s highly anticipated three-foldable phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, sold out within minutes of going on sale in South Korea. Despite its high price tag and being the first generation product in its category, this intense interest has surprised the tech world.
Galaxy Z TriFold Sells Out
The company launched the Galaxy Z TriFold, announced a few days ago, in 20 major retail stores across South Korea today. The 512GB version is priced at 3.59 million KRW (approximately $2,436) in South Korea.
Long queues of dozens of people were seen in front of each store in the morning hours when sales began. Stocks ran out in seconds at all points of sale. The appetite of South Korean buyers for this new form factor clearly demonstrates how much Samsung has solidified its leadership in the foldable phone market.
Samsung has not made a statement about when the device will be back in stock. However, they are thanking buyers for their support via their website and have begun registering for stock replenishment notifications.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will be available in several countries, including the United States, in the coming weeks. Currently, there is no Samsung Care+ plan available for customers, but the company is offering a 50% discount on screen replacements.
In terms of specifications, it comes with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB or 1TB of storage options. The phone runs One UI 8.0 based on Android 16 and features various Galaxy AI capabilities.
Samsung offers support for seven major Android operating system updates for the device. The Galaxy Z TriFold features a 10-inch 120Hz OLED foldable main display and a 6.5-inch 120Hz OLED cover display when open.
On the camera side, there’s a 200MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It’s powered by a 5,600mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. It also has an IP48 rating against dust and water.
