Samsung has significantly increased its phone sales in the US, with a 38% rise in the second quarter of 2025. According to data shared by Canalys, the company sold 8.3 million Galaxy phones during the three-month period, boosting its market share in the US to 31%. This also marks the South Korean brand’s highest market share ever in the country.
Samsung increased its sales in the US by 38 percent
The increase in Samsung’s sales is attributed to the strong performance of its Galaxy S25 and Galaxy A series. It’s also important to note that the shared data covers the period before the launch of the brand’s next-generation foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7.

During the same period, Apple sold 13.3 million iPhones and maintained its leadership with a 49% market share. However, the company experienced an 11% decline compared to the same quarter in 2024. With the iPhone 17 series set to be unveiled in September, Apple is likely to see its sales recover in the third and fourth quarters of the year. Despite this, the market share difference between the two companies has narrowed to its lowest level ever.
Motorola sold 3.1 million phones in the US during the quarter, achieving a 12% market share. Google, on the other hand, sold 0.8 million Pixel phones, securing a 3% share. Despite this smaller share, the company showed a 13% growth compared to last year. Meanwhile, TCL experienced a notable decline, with its sales decreasing by 23% compared to the same period last year, limited to 0.7 million units.
