Samsung is working on a new generation of wearable devices, expanding beyond smartwatches and headphones. According to COO Won-joon Choi of the company’s mobile experience department, the tech giant is actively exploring previously unexplored product types such as smart earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.
Samsung is coming with smart earring and necklace models
These devices will integrate with smartphones rather than standalone products and will be positioned as AI-powered companion devices that complement daily experiences. The company’s strategy is to make wearable technology not just portable but also directly attached to the body, becoming a part of the user’s experience.

This approach, highlighted in Choi’s interview, aligns with Samsung’s vision of delivering AI to the user intuitively. Integrating technology with objects like glasses, earrings, rings, and necklaces is a key component of this strategy.
The first examples of this vision are already in the making. One such project is Project Haean, a smart glasses project powered by Android XR. Another XR glasses, called Project Moohan, is expected to be announced by the end of 2025. However, Samsung appears to be focusing not only on glasses but also on smaller, more natural-feeling technologies.
Rival companies are working to develop standalone AI devices that can replace smartphones. Products like the Humane AI Pin and Rabbit R1 exemplify this approach. Samsung, however, prefers to develop wearable support products that enhance smartphone functionality rather than simply replacing them.
