Samsung is preparing to release the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update to compatible Galaxy devices in the coming months. The update has entered the beta phase on some models and is being shaped according to user feedback. The interface, which experienced a significant design change with One UI 7, focuses more on functionality and improving the user experience in the new version.
Samsung One UI 8.0 will be introduced
The innovations that come with One UI 8.0 include improved artificial intelligence support. The new generation AI system can interpret the content on the screen more accurately and provide natural and contextual responses to the user.

In addition, thanks to the local process control that works with in-device data, users can ensure that their personal data is processed without being exported. With this feature, the offline capabilities of artificial intelligence are also increasing.
On the interface side, special arrangements for foldable phones draw attention. In Galaxy Z Fold 6 and similar models, the interface behavior is made more compatible with the form factor of the device. Thus, multitasking management and transitions offer a more consistent experience on foldable screen devices.
Previously limited to Samsung apps only, the Now Bar is now available to third-party developers with One UI 8.0. Positioned on the lock screen and Always-on Display, this tool can now be used by other apps. This allows developers to integrate their apps more deeply throughout the system.
The redesigned Reminder app will also be an important part of the update. The app now has a more visual structure and new reminders can be added with voice commands. In addition, thanks to automations that can work in integration with the Samsung Notes and Calendar apps, reminders are automatically triggered when a specific note is taken or when the event time comes.
An important change has also been made on the Quick Share side. The recipient device no longer needs to open the app to share files. On the security side, the Knox Vault infrastructure has been updated and biometric data has been better isolated.
Samsung has started offering the One UI 8.0 update as a beta for certain Galaxy models. With Android 16 reaching stable release in June, the update is expected to meet a wider range of devices.
