Samsung is preparing to offer its users a new level of security with the Android 16-based One UI 8 update. This new mode, called “Advanced Protection,” makes devices more resistant to digital threats by activating multiple security features at the same time with a single touch.
One UI 8 will come with an advanced protection mode
The main purpose of the new mode is to enable users to protect their devices quickly and effectively. When activated, some automatic restrictions are activated in the system. For example, if the phone is locked for three days, it automatically restarts.

This is a precaution taken to prevent the device from remaining inactive against potential attacks. In addition, users are prevented from installing applications from unknown sources, which reduces the risk of malware. 2G network connections are also completely closed for security reasons.
Advanced Protection also offers an active filtering system for internet browsing. Using Android Safe Browsing technology, this feature warns the user before entering websites that do not support HTTPS.
Pages detected to be harmful are blocked instantly. During this scan, some advanced Javascript functions are disabled to prevent possible exploitation. The feature also filters spam messages and warns users about fraudulent content.
For now, Advanced Protection only checks Android’s own security structures. It has no direct impact on Samsung’s built-in systems such as Knox or Secure Folder. However, in the future, these systems may be integrated with Advanced Protection. The feature can be manually activated on Samsung devices that receive the One UI 8 update via the “Settings – Google – All Services – Advanced Protection” menu.
