The interface we’re accustomed to on smartphones and tablets will now be available for home appliances. With today’s announcement, Samsung will support all its smart products, from smart home appliances to appliances like refrigerators and washing machines, with One UI software. Here are the details.
Samsung is transitioning to a uniform interface for smart devices
While striving to develop user-friendly products, the tech giant is now offering the experience we’re used to seeing from other companies like Huawei. According to the announcement, Samsung will transition to a uniform interface with One UI support. It also promises seven years of updates for Wi-Fi-enabled devices, which will be introduced in 2024.

The One UI interface and some of its features from smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches are now being brought to kitchen appliances. Apps and services like Bixby, Gallery, and Samsung TV Plus will also be available on these devices. SmartThings integration will also make connecting devices easier.
Now Brief, a new feature introduced with One UI 7, will provide useful and contextual information to family members. This feature will offer daily weather forecasts, family calendars, personalized recipes, and household information. For example, you’ll be able to see when the washing machine is done on the refrigerator door.
One of the best aspects of this new feature is that it will provide enhanced security for your belongings through Knox Security, thanks to One UI. All Wi-Fi-enabled devices released by 2024 will be protected by a proprietary blockchain technology called Trust Chain. This technology will provide a secure connection between devices and monitor each other’s security status in the event of a security breach.
