With CES 2025 just days away, the excitement among technology lovers is at its peak. One of the most anticipated innovations of this year will be Samsung’s next generation monitors with QD-OLED technology. These monitors, which are said to revolutionize the industry, are expected to have VESA ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certifications. Details are in our news…
Samsung takes the stage with a QD-OLED monitor at CES 2025! Here are its features
The VESA ClearMR 21000 certification offered by the new monitors guarantees a significant reduction in motion blur. For those of you who don’t know what Clear Motion Ratio (CMR) is: it refers to the ratio of clear pixels to blurred pixels on a display. The higher the CMR value, the clearer the display shows fast-moving images. So, this will make a critical difference, especially in games with high frame rates.
Another innovation for QD-OLED displays is the DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. This certification guarantees that the display can achieve up to 1,000 nits of brightness and absolute black levels. So we can say that this feature will offer users a cinematic visual experience.
Samsung is also planning to introduce new Odyssey monitors in different sizes and proportions at CES 2025. Some models in this series will feature QLED, while others will feature QD-OLED display technology. The monitors will appeal to gamers with 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9 ultra-wide format options. Hojung Lee, Head of Samsung Display’s Product Planning Team, made the following statement about these displays:
“SAMSUNG DISPLAY IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING CUSTOMERS WITH THE BEST OLED AND QD-OLED DISPLAYS. TO THIS END, WE ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH VESA TO CERTIFY NEW STANDARDS SUCH AS DİSPLAYHDR TRUE BLACK 1000 AND CLEARMR 21000.”
In addition to Samsung, we expect competitors like LG to unveil new gaming monitors at CES 2025. LG is rumored to join the competition with monitors using its own WOLED panels. With the start of CES 2025, the details of these innovations will become clearer.
