Samsung is working on a new model that appeals to the affordable market. The device, to be called Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, was seen in benchmark tests before the official launch. In this context, the main features of the affordable 5G smartphone were revealed.
What will Galaxy A16 5G offer?
Galaxy A16 5G detected on Geekbench; It carries the model number SM-A166P. According to the benchmark listing, it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The chipset has an octa-core configuration; It consists of six cores running at 2GHz and two cores running at 2.4GHz.
The model on Geekbench was seen to increase its performance with 6GB RAM. Samsung is expected to offer multiple RAM/storage configurations at launch. In terms of performance, the Galaxy A16 5G scored 512 single-core points and 1464 multi-core points on Geekbench.
It’s also worth noting that the device will ship with Android 14 out of the box. Previous reports from IMEI listings suggest it will replace last year’s Galaxy A15 5G. That model featured a 6.5-inch 90Hz display, Dimensity 6100+ chipset and up to 8GB of RAM.
While the exact specs are still unclear, the Galaxy A16 5G is expected to appeal to the affordable 5G market. In addition, with features such as Dimensity 6300 and 6GB RAM, it seems possible to offer a good performance for its price.
