Samsung, just after unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE in the international market, has turned its attention to the Chinese market. With its latest teaser, the company confirmed that the next generation of its luxury foldable phone series, exclusive to China, is on the way. This move suggests the tech giant will continue its commitment to the premium foldable segment in the Chinese market. Here are the details.
Samsung W26 series on the way
Samsung doesn’t launch its flagship foldables in China under standard names like its other premium devices. For example, the model known globally as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was previously introduced in China as the Samsung W25. Similarly, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 was also called the Samsung W25 Flip.

These China-exclusive W series variants generally share the same specifications as their global counterparts. However, what truly sets them apart is their exclusive and luxurious designs. The W25 and W25 Flip, introduced last year, featured a Gold Armor Aluminum Frame detailing on a predominantly black body, giving it a much more premium look than the standard Galaxy Z series.
Samsung’s teaser image offers the first hints about these highly anticipated new premium foldable phones, while also officially confirming their launch date. The new luxury foldable series will be unveiled at the “Heart of the World” event on October 11, 2025.
Another notable element of the event was the announcement that attendees will receive a free Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatch. While this teaser doesn’t yet provide definitive details about the new foldables’ design, the series is likely to be called the Samsung W26 and W26 Flip.
