Details about Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, expected to be unveiled in early 2026, are beginning to emerge. The series, codenamed “Next Paradigm,” isn’t expected to feature radical design changes from the current Galaxy S25 family.
However, at least one model boasts a significant camera upgrade on the hardware front. The new model, expected to be called the Galaxy S26 Edge, will reportedly feature a 50MP ultra-wide camera, up from 12MP. This upgrade is one of Samsung’s most notable camera changes.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is coming with a bang
According to a report from Germany-based WinFuture, Samsung is planning three models in the Galaxy S26 family instead of four. This suggests the Galaxy S26 Plus could be removed from the lineup and replaced by a more advanced Galaxy S26 Edge.

This model, codenamed “NPA2,” is rumored to replace both the Galaxy S25 Plus and the S25 Edge. Positioned alongside the entry-level Galaxy S26 and the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra, this new Edge variant aims to attract attention with its high-end camera features.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a 200MP main camera along with a 50MP telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom, according to previous leaks. Details about the other two sensors are not yet clear.
Information about the base Galaxy S26 is also limited; however, there are claims that the main camera may feature some improvements over the previous generation. Following the launch of Samsung’s foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, all eyes are now on the next generation of the Galaxy S series.
The Galaxy S26 series, expected to be unveiled in January 2026, appears to be targeting users who prioritize mobile photography with these camera hardware improvements. While major design changes are not expected, the series aims to establish a strong market position with improvements to the camera, power, and battery.
