Surprise XR Device Revealed for the First Time!
During the presentation of its Q3 financial results, Samsung highlighted a key strategy in its upcoming plans. The company announced that it would strengthen cross-product connectivity and enhance the Galaxy ecosystem, including XR devices, to elevate user experience across its lineup.
In collaboration with Google and Qualcomm for this new XR venture, Samsung plans to use a specialized version of Android optimized specifically for XR devices, along with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip. Additionally, Samsung’s applications will be featured in the XR category of the Google Play Store, as we reported yesterday.
From a technical standpoint, the device is expected to feature high-refresh-rate Micro OLED or OLEDoS panels. Additionally, it will likely be equipped with multiple camera systems, though its exact design is still under wraps. While some rumors suggest a headset format, official announcements will likely come towards the end of 2024.
This new XR device from Samsung, set to compete with Apple’s Vision Pro, has already stirred excitement in the tech world. Its pricing and approach to user experience will be particularly interesting to watch.
