Apple is preparing to make significant changes to the screen sizes with the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16 Pro Max model is almost certain to come with a massive 6.9-inch screen. What other models will have changed screen sizes? Here are the details…
Screen size changes with the iPhone 16 series
These changes are primarily made to provide more space for components like the 5x zoom feature. The new screen sizes were revealed through images of protective glass being produced in China for the iPhone models set to be released in September.
The source of this information is Majin Bu, a well-known leaker, who shared images of the protective glass. These images confirm that the new iPhone 16 series will come with four different models and screen sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch screen, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch screen, the iPhone 16 Plus will retain its 6.7-inch screen size, and the iPhone 16 will keep its 6.1-inch screen.
- iPhone 16: 147.63 x 71.62 x 7.8 mm (same as iPhone 15)
- iPhone 16 Plus: 160.88 x 77.75 x 7.8 mm (same as iPhone 15 Plus)
- iPhone 16 Pro: 149.61 x 71.45 x 8.25 mm (slightly larger than iPhone 15 Pro’s 146.6 x 70.6 x 8.25 mm)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: 163.03 x 77.58 x 8.25 mm (larger than iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.25 mm)
These new models will be slightly larger than the current iPhone 15 series. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, in particular, will attract a lot of attention with its new screen size. However, these changes might not make a significant difference in daily use. Additionally, old cases will not be compatible with the new models, so new cases will be necessary.
