Meta is taking a new step to make life easier for content creators. Now, creators on Facebook and Instagram can add direct clickable shopping links to their Reels videos. This will make promoting products to followers much more effortless and practical.
The Era of Tagging Up to 30 Products in Reels Videos
Under normal circumstances, brand collaborations and affiliate links constitute the primary income source for content creators. However, Meta previously imposed various restrictions on links that directed users off-platform. Due to this situation, creators generally had to rely on “link in bio” services on their profiles.
With the new update, eligible content creators will be able to tag up to 30 different products in a single Reels video. This feature will be available on both Instagram and Facebook. However, creators on the Facebook side will only have the opportunity to tag products from specific marketplace partners like Amazon.

This innovation provides a significant advantage, especially for lifestyle content creators who rely on the purchasing habits of their followers. Furthermore, with this major move, Meta completely closes the gap with TikTok and YouTube Shorts, which have featured similar shopping capabilities for years. However, if creators go overboard, seeing constant shopping-oriented content might disturb some users.
This significant change will also provide Meta with new and highly valuable data regarding what users are purchasing. Company officials state that, for now, they do not take any commission from sales made by content creators through these links. However, it is clearly predicted that Meta will use the data obtained here to strengthen its own advertising model in the future.
What do you think about this new feature offered by the social media giant? Would seeing clickable product links directly while watching Reels videos simplify your shopping experience, or would seeing constant advertisements drive you away from these platforms? Share your thoughts in the comments!
Would you like me to look into the Amazon Associate integration details for Facebook Reels or the Meta Pixel tracking capabilities for these new product tags?
