A Silent Hill 2 remake for Switch 2 is starting to feel less like a rumor and more like a matter of time. Bloober Team hasn’t confirmed it yet, but signs keep stacking up. Now, a trusted leaker claims there’s genuine interest in bringing the survival horror classic to Nintendo’s next-gen handheld.
Silent Hill 2 Switch 2 port teased by trusted insider

NateTheHate2, a well-known voice in gaming leaks, responded to a fan by stating that a Switch 2 version of Silent Hill 2 is being explored. This lines up with whispers from last month after changes were spotted on the game’s official website. According to Rebs Gaming, two extra platform slots were quietly added likely placeholders for Xbox and Switch 2.
The game, remade in Unreal Engine 5, launched on PlayStation and PC in October 2024. With timed exclusivity assumed to be one year, the timing for new platform announcements seems spot-on.
Silent Hill 2 may appear at Xbox’s upcoming showcase
Adding fuel to the fire, NateTheHate2 also hinted that Microsoft is prepping a November showcase focused on third-party titles. With Konami’s remake reportedly in the lineup, fans are speculating that an Xbox version of Silent Hill 2 will finally go public possibly with a Switch 2 nod as well. A delisted Xbox Store page listing a November 21 release date only deepens the suspicion.
Switch 2 port could push Bloober’s tech limits
Still, not everything is a slam dunk. Even if the port is happening, getting Silent Hill 2 running smoothly on Switch 2 could be a serious challenge. The original remake on PS5 and PC suffered from frame drops and stuttering, mostly due to Unreal Engine 5’s demanding lighting effects.
Bloober Team has faced similar hurdles before. Bloober Team scaled down the visuals of their upcoming game Cronos: The New Dawn for the Switch 2, despite building it in the same engine. That doesn’t make a port impossible, but it all but guarantees some compromises.
Bloober Team’s support for Switch 2 keeps growing
What’s clear is that Bloober isn’t backing away from Nintendo’s upcoming handheld. Aside from the potential Silent Hill 2 port, they’re already prepping Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition and Project M for late 2025 and 2026. It’s a sign that the studio sees long-term potential in the device, even if it takes some clever optimization to get there.
If nothing else, fans might not have to wait long. With one eye on Xbox’s rumored showcase and the other on Konami’s cryptic website updates, the fog is starting to lift.
