Silent Hill 2 Remake surpassed 2 million copies sold shortly after its release. Konami, celebrating this major success, also hinted at the future of the series. Here are the details!
Will Silent Hill 3 Remake be Next?
Developed by Bloober Team, Silent Hill 2 Remake was released for PlayStation 5 and PC in October 2024. The game sold 1 million copies within just a few days of its launch and now, the sales have reached 2 million, quickly becoming the fastest-selling Silent Hill game.

After this achievement, Konami released a statement mentioning that the game had received “excellent” reviews and solidified its place as a classic in the horror genre. “Silent Hill 2 has won many awards and received numerous nominations, proving itself as a timeless masterpiece in the horror games genre.”
The success of Silent Hill 2 Remake could increase Konami’s interest in the Silent Hill series. The company is currently working on Silent Hill F and Silent Hill: Townfall. However, fans are also eager to see remakes of the older Silent Hill games.
The game has also gained attention from modders, with several mods created for PC players, including graphic updates, fog removal, and access to the Sunny Hills area. Players note that Silent Hill 2 Remake features new puzzles, improved maps, and additional content compared to the original version.
The immense success of Silent Hill 2 Remake may have restored Konami’s confidence in the series. Additionally, a film adaptation of Silent Hill 2 is in the works. With these new projects, Silent Hill could soon be in direct competition with other major horror game franchises like Resident Evil.
