Konami released a new trailer for the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake during the PlayStation State of Play live stream. The trailer for the game, developed by Bloober Team, includes a gameplay video. However, the game was also compared to another game by some fans. Let’s look at the details.
Silent Hill 2 Remake new trailer includes gameplay video
As highlighted in the gameplay video, the studio aims to bring the iconic horror game classic into the modern era with improved and modernized combat mechanics.
Originally released in 2001, Silent Hill 2 became one of the best survival horror games of all time. We have been eagerly awaiting news about the Remake since its announcement in 2022.
Currently, no specific release date has been confirmed for Silent Hill 2 Remake. In March 2023, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno addressed the ongoing development process, stating that the technical aspects of Silent Hill 2 are nearing completion. However, he also stated that the release schedule and promotional details are in the hands of their partners. So we can say it’s close.
The trailer not only shows off the fighting mechanics, but also the overall visual and atmospheric improvements that Bloober Team will likely incorporate into the Remake.
The challenge for the development team is to preserve the legacy of Silent Hill 2, just like Resident Evil 4 Remake, and make a remake that feels the same as the original, even with improvements. In fact, a few of the gamers have likened what was shown in the trailer to the Resident Evil remakes.
