Konami announced the release date of the new main game Silent Hill f during the PlayStation State of Play event. The Silent Hill series will reunite with its fans on September 25 after more than a decade of silence. The production draws attention with its different atmosphere set in 1960s Japan.
Silent Hill f, coming soon
Silent Hill f is the first game in the series to chronologically move away from the modern era. Unlike the stories that previously took place in rural areas of America, this time the events that take place in a small town in Japan welcome the players to a new geography full of uncertainty.
Players take control of the main character, a high school student named Hinako. The disappearances that begin in the town covered in fog soon evolve into grotesque transformations and terrifying creatures. The player will try to survive in this dark world with only limited melee weapons.
Silent Hill f comes with a structure where action elements are more dominant. The focus on melee weapons such as pipes and spears in the game shows that the psychological tension and escape mechanics of the previous games will be replaced by a direct combat-based gameplay.
The scenario was written by Ryukishi07, a well-known name in Japanese horror literature. The author’s experience from visual novel series such as Higurashi and Umineko also makes its impact felt in Silent Hill f’s narrative structure.
Silent Hill f, which will be released on September 25, can also provide important clues about the future of the series. So what do you think about this game? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
