The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has researched the largest arms suppliers worldwide. The data in the report is quite surprising. Some countries that you would definitely expect to be among the largest producers are excluded from the list. Turkey’s ranking is also quite promising. Here is the answer to the question of which place Turkey holds as the world’s largest arms exporting country and the details…
Turkey is the world’s 11th largest arms exporter!
Turkey has made significant strides in recent years, particularly in its military weapons and vehicle production efforts. As a result, Turkey has become one of the world’s largest arms producers, ranking 11th on the list. According to researchers and experts, this success is expected to further increase with the introduction of new products, and Turkey’s market share is expected to grow.
The ranking of Russia is quite surprising. Many of our readers who are interested in the subject were expecting the United States to be in first place and Russia to be in second. However, for the first time in the history of the list, Russia fell behind. Russia, which dropped to 3rd place, was replaced by France.
Turkey, on the other hand, ranks 11th on the list. In the comparison of the lists for the periods of 2019-2023 and 2014-2018, Turkey increased its market share by 106 percent between the two periods. The world’s top 10 arms producers are as follows:
- United States
- France
- Russia
- Italy
- South Korea
- China
- Germany
- United Kingdom
- Spain
- Israel
- Turkey
