Qualcomm has officially announced its Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor for mid-range phones. The new chip offers higher performance than previous generations, better energy efficiency and, for the first time, built-in AI support. Brands such as Oppo, Realme and Honor are expected to introduce models using this new processor in the coming months. Details in our news…
Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 will set new performance standards in the mid-segment
Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 utilizes TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process and delivers significant performance gains compared to the previous generation. Here are some of the highlights of the new processor:

- CPU performance: 11% faster Kryo cores
- GPU improvements: Adreno GPU for 29% better graphics performance
- Energy efficiency: 12% lower power consumption
In addition, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Game Super Resolution technology will scale games from 1080p to 4K, and the Adreno Frame Motion Engine will double the frame rate for smoother gameplay. Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 will also support in-device artificial intelligence operations with Qualcomm AI Engine, making features such as application recommendations and system optimizations smarter.
On the camera side, Qualcomm Spectra ISP can capture images from three different cameras simultaneously and supports up to 200 MP resolution. In addition, Snapdragon Low Light Vision (LLV) technology provides clearer images in night shots.
On the other hand, the new chip offers mmWave and Sub-6GHz 5G support with Snapdragon 5G modem. It also supports modern connectivity standards with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB-C 3.1 connectivity support. We expect Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 phones to hit the market in the next few months. In particular, new devices from Realme, Oppo and Honor may be powered by this chip.
