The Sony Xperia 10 VII is expected to launch in October. While the release date is still a long way off, case manufacturer SpinoArmor recently listed the phone’s case on Amazon. This development, of course, reveals many details, especially the model’s rear panel design.

The images shared point to a major change in the camera layout. Sony appears to have switched to a pill-shaped camera module that covers almost the entire back of the phone. This new design places two cameras side by side, rather than the vertically arranged cameras like those on the Xperia 10 VI. The module houses an LED flash and two microphones.

The front of the phone features a panel with thick top and bottom bezels, rather than a notch or punch-hole display.
Rumors suggest the phone will feature a 6.1-inch display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, making it one of the thinnest phones on the market. The frame will be metal, unlike the plastic in the previous model. Sony will also update the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor used in the previous model with the newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.
The Xperia 10 VII continues Sony’s strategy of offering compact devices with tall screens that appeal to a smaller audience rather than the mass market. Sony’s share of the global smartphone market has fallen to approximately 1 percent, and the company has reduced sales in many markets, including parts of Europe. Despite this, Sony is maintaining its Xperia brand for users who value camera features and distinctive design approaches.
