Valve is bringing another highly useful feature to its gaming platform, Steam. Steam will now be able to instantly detect whether Secure Boot and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security features are enabled on users’ computers. This new feature will help resolve issues with some popular games not launching.
Steam will address the game not launching issue
Battlefield 6, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Valorant, and many other popular games currently require Secure Boot as a security measure used by developers to prevent cheaters. On some computers, these security features are not enabled, leading to games not working properly or not launching at all; the new Steam feature largely prevents this issue.

This new check has been added to the Steam beta client. Users can now see whether Secure Boot is enabled on their computers and the current version of the TPM.
Steam will display this information under the Help – System Information menu, accessible to the user. However, the user will not be provided with any instructions on how to enable Secure Boot and the TPM on the system.
However, if Secure Boot is disabled, it usually needs to be enabled via the motherboard’s BIOS menu. The TPM is typically integrated into modern processors or appears as a separate module on the motherboard.
