While Marvel Studios shelved some projects planned for Disney+, a surprise development regarding the X-Men universe came to the agenda. According to the latest information, the studio is working on a new series focusing on an academy where young mutants are trained. Here are the details about this project that will excite X-Men fans…
Marvel is planning the ‘X Academy’ series!
It has been learnt that Marvel Studios has suspended Nova, Terror Inc. and Strange Academy projects planned for Disney+. However, the studio seems to have turned to a completely different project to expand the X-Men universe. According to reliable sources, Marvel has started preparations for a new series about an academy where mutants are trained.

According to Jeff Sneider, one of the hosts of ‘The Hot Mic’ podcast, this project, which has not yet been finalised, is called ‘X Academy’ and is in the early planning stages. In the comics, Academy X was first introduced in New X-Men #23. This team represented an academy where young mutants were trained. The original team included characters such as Anole, Armour, Cuckoo Triplets, Dust, Elixir, Prodigy, Pixie and Rockslide. However, it is not yet known whether the series will follow this cast exactly. Marvel could involve many young mutants from different X-Men comics in this project.
Marvel Studios is rumoured to have big plans for the ‘Mutant Age’. In this context, it seems quite logical for a series centred on young mutants to take place on a platform like Disney+. In addition, the work for X-Men’s return to the big screen continues unabated. Although the director has not yet been announced, it is stated that the studio is in the process of shaping the cast.
