Nintendo’s next-generation gaming console, Switch 2, was officially announced recently and the company has already guaranteed that there will be enough stock available during the first sales period. Expected to be introduced on April 4, 2025, it was stated that the console will not repeat the stock problems experienced in the previous generation when it goes on sale. So what can we expect from the new Switch console? Details are in our news…
Nintendo Switch 2 will not have stock issues: Guaranteed sufficient production
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa told Japanese media that the company has learned from the past and that the first batch will be produced on a large scale. “We have learned from the stock shortages experienced with previous Switch models and have taken every precaution,” he said, underlining that gamers will be able to access the new console comfortably.

Meanwhile, a question that has been puzzling for a while has been answered: Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with original Switch game cartridges. This means that existing Switch owners will be able to play their games on the new console. It has also been confirmed that it will come with a larger screen, new magnetically-connected Joy-Con controllers and an additional USB-C port.
On the other hand, Nintendo also announced that it will continue its support for the original Switch model. So, the release of Switch 2 will not force existing Switch users to switch to the new model.
