Breaking new ground in autonomous driving technology, Tesla has started using its autonomous systems in the production process. According to the company, Tesla cars can now leave the factory without any human intervention and autonomously reach the designated shipping area.
In the videos shared by Tesla, it is shown that cars exiting the factory can reach the shipping area smoothly with the full autonomous driving system. The company plans to implement this system in all its factories in the future. This innovation not only increases the efficiency of Tesla’s production processes but also represents a significant step in minimizing human errors.
While Tesla is making headlines with its autonomous production process, the new Model Y also stands out with technical and design updates. The new model features a more modern look with updates to both the front and rear designs. The front now uses a new design language where the slim headlights are connected by an LED strip, while the rear features a wide LED light strip.
In terms of performance, the new Model Y offers significant improvements with various wheel options and different range alternatives:
- 19-inch wheel dual motor long-range version: 719 km range
- 20-inch wheel dual motor long-range version: 662 km range
- 19-inch wheel single motor standard range version: 593 km range
- 20-inch wheel single motor standard range version: 559 km range
The dual-motor version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, while the single-motor version reaches this speed in 5.9 seconds. These figures indicate better acceleration performance compared to the previous Model Y.
The new Model Y also brings significant updates to the interior. Tesla has included the standard signal lever in this model, while removing the gear lever and integrating the gear selector directly into the screen. The vehicle features strip-shaped RGB ambient lighting and offers an additional screen for rear-seat passengers. This screen allows vehicle settings to be controlled and multimedia content to be viewed.
An extra camera positioned on the front bumper enhances driving safety, while acoustic glass significantly improves interior sound insulation. The electric rear seats can be folded with a single button, and the massive glass roof is retained, just like the previous model. The new Model Y features a 16-speaker sound system (up from the previous 14-speaker system), supports fast charging up to 250 kW, and now comes with cooled seats.
