Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy M17, making a strong entry into the affordable smartphone market. Despite its price tag, this model, which offers premium features like an AMOLED display and an OIS-enabled camera, is poised to become a contender in the budget segment. Here are the details.
High-End Display and Camera for the Price
The Galaxy M17 stands out particularly for its display and camera hardware. The phone boasts a 6.7-inch, FHD+ resolution Super AMOLED display. Its 90Hz refresh rate and 1100 nits of peak brightness deliver smooth and vibrant images. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for durability.
On the rear, there’s a 50MP main camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), a rarity in the budget segment. It’s also accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide-angle and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, there’s a 13MP selfie camera.
The device’s performance and software details also meet expectations. The Galaxy M17 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 chipset. Users have the option of up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.
For all-day use, the 5,000mAh battery is supported by 25W wired fast charging. The phone comes with the custom One UI 7 interface based on Android 15 out of the box.
