According to the latest information; Chinese technology giants Alibaba, Tencent and ByteDance created a large stock with orders exceeding $12 billion in total before the export ban on Nvidia’s H20 artificial intelligence GPU came into effect.
Chinese purchased $12 billion worth of Nvidia H20
The H20 model, specially developed for China, stands out as a high-performance artificial intelligence GPU. It is said that Chinese companies have ordered approximately 1 million H20 units, thus ensuring operational continuity in the face of possible embargoes.

The H20 chip is designed especially for intensive artificial intelligence applications such as large language models and image recognition systems. H20, which is among Nvidia’s advanced GPU architectures, is considered one of the most advanced solutions on the market.
On the other hand, China does not only import. Huawei has made significant progress in its own Ascend A10C and Ascend 910C series chips. However, the manufacturing technology of these chips lags behind companies like Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC.
The US Department of Commerce has also noticed China’s attempts to access strategic chips indirectly. It has emerged that products like the Nvidia H20 were ordered through global subsidiaries that have no direct links to China. Therefore, the US will tighten export regulations even more.
Although Chinese companies have created a temporary protection zone with a large pre-order drive, it is stated that the planned “one-year stock” target has not been fully met. So what do you think about this? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
