Pixar has released the first trailer for its new feature film, “Hoppers,” set for release in early 2026. Following its latest film, “Elio,” Pixar returns to theaters with a new film with science fiction elements. “Hoppers” will be released on March 6, 2026.
The first trailer for the new Pixar film, “Hoppers,” has been released.
The film takes place in a future where consciousness can be transferred to mechanical bodies. Mabel Tanaka, a young woman with a deep interest in animals and nature, stars in the lead role. Thanks to this technology, Mabel transfers her consciousness to a robotic beaver, giving her this new form the opportunity to observe the animal world from within. But she’s not content with just exploring. Mabel embarks on a fight to stop the activities of a construction company that threatens the animals’ habitat.
Director Daniel Chong, known for his work on “We Were Bears,” is the film’s director. Chong also wrote the film’s script. The film’s narrative, which blends science fiction and comedy, appears to explore a strong environmental theme.
The trailer for “Hoppers” offers the first glimpses into the film’s atmosphere and visual structure. Pixar’s character designs and digital animation quality are once again prominent in the trailer. The film, set for release on March 6, 2026, is currently the only major production announced on the studio’s upcoming schedule.
