Tech giant Samsung is preparing to use a revolutionary privacy-focused display technology in its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company is expected to maximize users’ screen privacy with this AI-powered technology, called Flex Magic Pixel.
Galaxy S26 Ultra Comes with New Display Technology
According to Korean sources, this technology, previously showcased at trade shows, is now entering mass production. This suggests that the Flex Magic Pixel could be featured not only in the Galaxy S26 Ultra but also in new foldable phones slated for release in 2026.

As its name suggests, the Flex Magic Pixel uses AI to control the viewing angle of pixels in OLED panels. For example, when you open a banking app on your phone, the AI automatically narrows the pixel angle. This prevents sensitive information from being visible to those viewing the screen from the side.
This feature is similar to commercially available privacy screen protectors. However, these protectors typically reduce screen brightness and image quality. The Flex Magic Pixel offers the same privacy benefits while maintaining the full brightness and quality of the screen.
The Flex Magic Pixel is reportedly combined with another new technology for its efficient operation: CoE (Color Filter on Encapsulation). Industry sources say the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be the first flat-screen smartphone to utilize this technology.
CoE technology eliminates the polarizer layer in OLED panels, which reduces light reflection and improves external visibility. Instead, it adds the color filter directly to the TFT layer. Furthermore, the pixel definition layer is replaced with a black PDL, preventing light reflection caused by removing the polarizer.
Samsung Display first used this technology in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in 2021. It was later featured in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, released this year. This technology, which removes the polarizer, making the panel thinner, more energy-efficient, and more color-accurate, is now coming to flat-screen flagship phones.
