Sony’s beloved video game series, God of War, is getting ready to hit the big screen with a series adaptation. The long-awaited project’s filming date has finally been confirmed. According to reliable sources, filming for the God of War series will begin in Vancouver, Canada, in March 2026.
God of War series is coming soon
Cast casting is reportedly still underway for the series, which is expected to air on Amazon’s Prime Video platform. The series’ writing team includes veteran actors such as Matthew Graham, Stephanie Shannon, Narendra K. Shankar, Joe Menosky, Marc D. Bernardin, and Tania Lotia, led by Ronald D. Moore.

Series producer Ronald D. Moore stated, “We’re currently in the scripting phase, and it’s going very well. We have a great team. It’s really exciting to be involved.” Moore added that he hadn’t previously produced a video game adaptation, but was very impressed by the game’s vast and deep mythology.
Moore, speaking about the series, stated that the mythological elements in the game’s story captivated him and that he believes this rich world would adapt very well to the series format. It appears the production team is currently working intensively on the script and is taking great care to bring the project to the screen in the most accurate way possible.
Amazon is known to have allocated a substantial budget to this project. The game’s global popularity and large fan base could lead to a series of major viewing success. However, it’s also true that video game adaptations are not always successful and can struggle to meet fan expectations.
Therefore, the project’s script and production stages are being meticulously handled. How the God of War series will explore the epic journey of Kratos and his son Atreus, and how it will bring the game’s atmosphere to the screen, is already a matter of curiosity.
