Nothing Phone 1 Finally Gets the Android 15 Update!
Nothing has officially released the Android 15 update for its Phone 1. The company had faced criticism for significantly delaying the Android 13 update, which arrived six months late. However, with the Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5, the update process was accelerated, cutting the wait to three months. Now, Nothing has adopted an even more aggressive update policy for Android 15, rapidly upgrading almost all its devices. Finally, the long-awaited Android 15 update has reached Nothing Phone 1 users.
What’s New with Android 15?
Shared Widgets
The new Shared Widgets feature allows users to share home screen widgets with friends and interact with each other’s widgets. However, this feature is currently exclusive to Nothing devices and only supports sharing the Photo Widget.

Enhanced Lock Screen Customization
Lock screen customization options have been expanded. Users can access new customization features by long-pressing the lock screen or via the Customization page. New clock face styles and additional widget spaces are also included in this update.
AI-Powered Smart Drawer
The updated app drawer introduces the AI-driven Smart Drawer, which automatically organizes apps into categories for a more streamlined experience. Users can also pin favorite apps for quick access.
Improved Pop-Up View
The pop-up view has been enhanced, allowing users to move windows anywhere on the screen, resize them, or pin them to the screen edge for quick access. Additionally, notifications can be swiped down to instantly open in pop-up view.
The Android 15 update is now available for Nothing Phone 1 users. It will be interesting to see how this update impacts device performance. It’s worth noting that this is expected to be the last major update for Nothing Phone 1.
