Apple recently unveiled the highly anticipated M3 processor-powered MacBook Air models. Despite not hosting an event, the company managed to attract attention by announcing the new models through a blog post on its official website. Now, the Geekbench performance test results for the M3 MacBook Air model have surfaced.
Geekbench performance test for the M3 MacBook Air
Apple has made bold claims about the new MacBook Air. The company states that the model is the world’s best laptop in terms of artificial intelligence. Additionally, Apple asserts that the M3-powered Air is up to 60% faster than the M1-powered Air and up to 13 times faster than the Intel-powered Air. Consequently, there was much anticipation surrounding the Geekbench test results, which have recently emerged.
The M3 MacBook Air model has been spotted in the Geekbench database. For those unfamiliar, Geekbench is a utility program that runs performance tests on the central processing unit (CPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU) of computers, tablets, and phones, providing a score that indicates the device’s performance.
In the Geekbench test for the 15-inch M3 MacBook Air model, it scored 3,157 in the single-core test and 12,020 in the multi-core test. Based on these scores, we can say that the new laptop is slightly more powerful than the M3 MacBook Pro released in November 2023.
For comparison, the M3 MacBook Pro 14-inch model scored 3,127 in the single-core test and 11,895 in the multi-core test. It’s important to note the differences in battery life, display, and chassis between the two models.
